Keeping it Together

I've come to the conclusion that I can no longer keep up the multitude of tasks I seem to keep assigning myself. In my attempt to take on too much, one of the things I've lost track of is my diabetes blogging; a situation I sincerely hope to fix.
Nikki has had additional health problems, directly related to diabetes. She was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 2 months ago. This will be the subject of my next blog. Tomorrow Nikki will visit the school where I teach and talk to the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes about diabetes. I remain so very proud of all the ways she's willing to put herself out there when it comes to educating people about T1.
All for now......

Time Flies

WOW!! I didn't realize it's been A YEAR since I've had time to blog!!! It's been a very busy, very wonderful, very hard year. Nikki has had a year of many crazy blood sugar readings and went through a - short - but painful depression or 'diabetes burnout'. However, like she always does, she bounced back and came out stronger.

I finished my first year teaching in a new school, with a group of kids (and their parents) that I would love to have adopted. Amber finished her sophomore year of high school with flying colors .... and a driver's permit (gulp). And here we are.

Diabetes camp is just around the corner - always an exciting for Nikki and her T1 friends. The JDRF walk is not too far off and it feels like time is just always in fast forward these days. Which should be a strong reminder for me to slow it down and remember to enjoy all the little precious moments GOD gives me each and every day.

All for now,
